Tips to Consider Before Blogging

by Jay Pabs on November 19, 2010

“I can earn money through blogging.”, “I wanted to share something I already knew.”, and “Blogging is my passion.”

These are just some of the answers a blogger would say if you will ask them why they are in blogging career. Each of them has varied of reasons and this simply means to say that you can’t start of something without any goals or objectives; for as long as you have that, it will duly serve as your framework for you to begin and end up to something you’re working on.

As you start blogging, of course with your very purpose, there will really comes a time that you would face different kinds of problems, inevitable as it may seem, it is how you are tested prior to what you wanted. The most challenging part of it? Oh! You lose your focus and you end up zero grounded; as a result, you would just leave your blogging career, just give up after building it for a long period of time with your very exerted effort and hard work.

So before you would decide to blog, so that you can’t experience certain disappointments that could lead you to breakdown, here are some of the tips you need to ponder.

Passion

Like what I said in my article “Motivations to Keep You Blogging”, you need to be willing enough to blog, but passion is of different sense. Passion is doing what you love. It is not just a hobby, it is your life. As what Johann Wolfgang Van Goethe said, “Passion is a vice or virtue to their highest power.” So if you’re passionate enough in blogging, chances are you will succeed thoroughly and be willing to keep your blog as long as you want.

Solve Readers Problems

It is not just enough for you to have a certain goal why you are blogging, the most important is you have the capacity to help others with their problems, to make them realize that you have blogs that could actually be the key for their experiencing predicament. The best thing you need to do for you to be updated of your readers’ circumstances is to keep yourself on track: what’s on and what’s not.

Relationship with Readers

Are you a blogger who only writes and never get any feedbacks? Or a blogger who blogs and easily wins readers attention? In blogging, it is a must that you know your readers and your readers know you (not exactly your name) in order to build link with them.  Your readers are your reason why you blog and they are the source of your main purpose. Through their feedbacks, you’re sure enough you get acquainted with them, and as time goes by, you would never notice you’re already building a community. A community both of you benefits; whenever they got problems, they could just visit your blog and find solutions, and if your blogs satisfied them, they would be very pleased to share it to others, recommending that you’re an effective blogger. Shoot! You’re a certified people-oriented person. Nice one.

Being a Doer

Everything starts with a thought, a plan and an action. You might say “I have bigger ideas to write”, yet you never put it into action; or “I’m planning to write this…”, but are you making the steps to do it? As a blogger, it is but a must for you to do what you have already think and planned. If you do have your ideas, write it down, and do it, for it is best when application took place. But if you struggle, don’t just give up. A doer always makes mistakes, because if he never does, he never do something.

As what Nolan Bushnell said, “The critical ingredient is getting off your butt and doing something. It’s as simple as that. A lot of people have ideas, but there are few who decide to do something about them now. Not tomorrow. Not next week but today. The true entrepreneur is a doer, not a dreamer.”

Exactly!  Be a DOER.
